BLS Training Session

A BLS training session was held recently at South Punjab Hospital. During the session, our nursing staff was given a live demonstration by our specialists Dr. Ayesha and Dr. Amir Furqan.

What is BLS?

Basic Life Support, or BLS, is the term used to describe the kind of care that emergency personnel, medical professionals, and public safety experts give to people who are experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or an obstruction of the airway. It necessitates expertise in treating airway blockages in patients of all ages, using automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The three basic principles are:

  1. Initial assessment
  2. Airway Maintenance and Breathing
  3. CPR

Here at South Punjab, we believe in equipping our staff with effective ways that will eventually lead to countless lives saved. With live demonstrations, drills, and reinforcement we aim to excel every day.  Because our patients trust us with their lives, and that matters.
