Urology is the branch of medicine that deals with the male and female urinary tract (this includes kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra) and the male reproductive organ. This includes dealing with non-surgical conditions such as a UTI (urinary tract infection) and surgical operations such as kidney stones or bladder or prostate cancer.

The reproductive system and the urinary tract are closely linked hence they are coupled under the umbrella of urology. This is often referred to as genitourinary, which is used when a condition or symptom affects the reproductive system and the urinary tract.
